Shameta Siva

A registered psychologist and clinical psychology registrar based in Melbourne

I have over five years of experience working across public hospitals, private psychiatric hospitals, and private practice. Alongside my professional training, I’ve also had the privilege of living in different parts of the world. Originally hailing from Malaysia, I began my psychology training in Scotland and completed it in Australia.

Living and training across different countries and cultural contexts has given me a broader understanding of people — how our stories, relationships, cultures, and environments shape who we are and how we heal.

These experiences have reinforced something I hold strongly in my work: there is no one-size-fits-all approach to wellbeing. That’s why I draw from a range of evidence-based therapies and tailor them to suit your individual needs. If you have preferences about how you’d like to work, I welcome that. If you’re unsure, that’s completely okay — we’ll figure it out together. My aim is to ensure therapy feels meaningful, collaborative, and aligned with what matters most to you.

Some people come to therapy wanting to explore things more deeply — to understand their patterns, relationships, and past experiences. Others are simply trying to get through the week and need practical tools to cope. Wherever you’re starting from, our work will be guided by you. I’ll meet you where you are, and together we’ll set goals that feel purposeful and supportive — whether that’s building insight, developing strategies, or a bit of both.

Therapy with me is not about quick fixes (is there ever really such a thing?). It’s about slowing down, staying accountable, and learning to make space for the messy, human parts of life — all with the aim of creating a life that’s more aligned with your values and goals.

If you’re ready to take the next step, I’d love to hear from you!
