About Shameta
Meet Shameta
I have over five years of experience working across public hospitals, private psychiatric hospitals, and private practice. Alongside my professional training, I’ve also had the opportunity to live and train in different parts of the world. Originally from Malaysia, I began my psychology training in Scotland before completing it in Australia.
Living and working across diverse cultural contexts has shaped how I understand people and the challenges we face. Our wellbeing is influenced not only by our internal world, but also by our relationships, culture, environment, and lived experiences. These experiences have reinforced something central to how I work: there is no one-size-fits-all approach to therapy.
That’s why I draw from a range of evidence-based therapies and tailor them to suit your individual needs. If you have preferences about how you’d like to work, I welcome that. If you’re unsure, that’s completely okay — we’ll work it out together. What matters most to me is that therapy feels collaborative, purposeful, and aligned with what’s important to you.
Some people come to therapy wanting to explore things more deeply — to understand their patterns, relationships, and past experiences. Others are simply trying to get through the week and need practical tools to cope. Wherever you’re starting from, our work will be guided by you. I’ll meet you where you are, and together we’ll set goals that feel supportive, realistic, and meaningful — whether that’s building insight, developing strategies, or a bit of both.
Therapy with me is not about quick fixes (is there ever really such a thing?). It’s about slowing down, staying accountable, and learning to make space for the messy, human parts of life — all with the aim of creating a life that’s more aligned with your values and goals.
If you’re ready to take the next step, I’d love to hear from you!

About Shameta
My Approach
Thoughtful, evidence-based therapy — tailored to you.
As a clinician, my priority is delivering evidence-based therapy — meaning the work we do will always be grounded in scientific research that demonstrates these approaches are effective and genuinely helpful.
As a fellow complicated human being, I know it can be confronting to finally face up to a problem and seek support. So, it’s important to me you feel comfortable throughout the process, and that your needs are met. I want you to feel genuinely heard, understood, and supported in every session.
That’s why I aim to strike a balance between having a clear sense of direction — working toward goals that matter to you — while remaining flexible enough to meet you where you’re at. We’ll work together at your pace, helping you understand your needs, reconnect with yourself, and create meaningful change.
